Payathai Babies home

Hello everyone I have been in thailand a week now volunteering It has been an amazing experience and one i won't forget ill tell you a bit about my trip getting to the baby home on day one was quite an adventure.... I had to lug 2 suitcases full of donations all the way there... after the help of some local thai people they directed me to the ferries... once I got to the ferries I booked a ticket, I got on a ferry and traveled roughly 45min to come to the last stop and realizing i had gone the wrong way....got off the ferry and on to another one and went all the way back and eventually to Nonthaburi Province which took 1hr or so...2hr with my mistake. after finally arriving i had to get a taxi this was quite difficult as a lot didn't understand the map i had, eventually one man did. Arriving at the home I was verry excited and they were all very very welcoming, I met Apichet who i have been in contact with from australia. He showed me all around the orphanage currently 356 babies and always more coming in. He said once the babies go into the 3-4yr old room they are not likely to be adopted and rarely ever once they go to the next orphanage after 5yrs old. The country that adopts most babies is France. I then went into the 2-3yr old room with the kids for 2 hrs and helped feed and then play with the beautiful babies. They are so full of smiles and love and giggle so much! As soon as they see you they run at you straight away for cuddles and don't want to let you go...leaving the room is hard because they cling to you and hold on as tight as they can not wanting you to leave. Unfortunatly there had been a miscommunication with language barriers and the only time I'm allowed to be there is 2 hrs a day to help feed and play with 2-5yrs. also no weekends. Thanks jess
